This refund policy explains when you can ask SEO Expert Marketing for a refund, which payments usually can't be refunded once work has started, and how to send a request. It covers fixed-price jobs ordered at checkout on this website and the paid SEO services set out in your written proposal, invoice or service agreement, and our terms and conditions point here for refunds and cancellations.
SEO work takes professional time: research, analysis, planning and changes made for one particular website. Unlike a physical product, it can't be sent back once it's done, so most of this refund policy turns on whether work has started.
Our refund policy in short
- Free website review: it costs nothing, so there's nothing to refund.
- Before work starts: you can cancel and ask for a refund. Where they apply, third-party charges, transaction or payment-processing fees and other non-refundable expenses may be deducted.
- After work starts: payments for work that's finished or underway are generally non-refundable. If only part of the agreed work is done, we may consider a partial refund.
- Audits and reports: non-refundable once delivered.
- Monthly plans: you can cancel future service periods under the terms of your proposal or agreement. Canceling doesn't by itself refund work already done in the current period.
- Yearly plans: if you cancel once work has started, we keep working through the months you've already paid for. After that, the work stops until you tell us what you'd like to do next.
- Results and delays: not reaching a specific ranking or result, or delays caused by missing information or access, don't by themselves qualify for a refund.
- Billing mistakes: we review verified duplicate payments and refund them where appropriate, and we correct verified billing errors.
- Your legal rights: nothing in this refund policy limits rights you have under consumer protection laws.
The free website review: nothing to refund
Our free website review costs nothing and creates no obligation. You send your website and goals, and we reply by email with the main issues on your site and the order we'd tackle them in. With no payment involved, there's nothing for this refund policy to cover.
Paid SEO work is either a fixed-price job ordered at checkout on this website, or a monthly or yearly plan. Before you commit to a plan, you receive a written proposal covering the scope of the work, its price in USD and what each of us is responsible for. Fixed-price jobs are paid at checkout by Remitly; plans are paid by Remitly, Wise or bank transfer.
Canceling before work begins
If you've bought a service and want to cancel it before any work has started, email contact (at) seoexpertmarketing.com to cancel and ask for a refund.
If any apply, third-party charges, transaction fees, payment-processing fees or other non-refundable expenses may be taken off the amount we refund.
Payments once work has started
After work on your project has begun, money paid for work that's finished or still in progress is generally non-refundable. Keyword research, competitor analysis, technical analysis, strategy and content preparation are done for your business in particular, and they can't be handed back the way a physical product can.
Partly completed work
If only some of the agreed work has been done, we may look at your case individually and decide whether a partial refund is appropriate.
SEO audits, reports and research
Once a completed or substantially completed SEO audit, report, keyword research, competitor research, technical analysis or similar digital deliverable has been delivered, the payment for it is non-refundable. That includes recommendations and reports tailored to your own website or business.
Completed services
When a service is fully completed and you've received the agreed work or deliverable, its payment is generally non-refundable, unless the law that applies to you requires otherwise.
SEO plans and cancellation
Our SEO plans are priced in USD and paid monthly, or yearly at a lower monthly price billed once a year. You can cancel future service periods under the terms of your proposal, invoice, subscription or service agreement.
A cancellation covers future billing periods. On its own, it doesn't create a refund for services already delivered or for work done during the current billing period. If you're unsure how canceling works for your plan, ask before you accept the proposal.
Canceling a yearly plan
If you cancel a yearly plan once work has started, we keep working through the months you've already paid for. After that, the work stops until you tell us what you'd like to do next. If you cancel before any work has started, the "Canceling before work begins" part of this refund policy applies.
Duplicate payments and incorrect charges
If you paid twice
If you accidentally make the same payment twice or more, tell us as soon as possible and include your payment reference, invoice number or other transaction details. We'll review verified duplicate payments and refund them where appropriate.
If the amount looks wrong
If you think you were charged the wrong amount, email contact (at) seoexpertmarketing.com. We'll check the transaction and correct any verified billing error.
Situations that don't automatically qualify for a refund
Delays from missing information or access
SEO projects may need things from you: business information, approvals, website credentials, analytics or Search Console access, content and other cooperation. If a delay comes from missing information, access that isn't available, a late approval or no reply on your side, it doesn't automatically qualify for a refund.
Giving access early helps, and it doesn't have to mean sharing your own password. In Search Console, for example, a property owner can add a user and pick their permission level.
Rankings and results
We don't guarantee a particular Google ranking, search position, traffic increase, number of leads, revenue amount or any other specific result. Google's guide Do you need an SEO? puts it plainly: "No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google." Search performance can also be affected by factors outside our control:
- search engine algorithm changes and search engine policies;
- competition and market conditions;
- your website's history and technical limitations;
- third-party platforms;
- changes you make to your website.
If a specific ranking or result isn't reached, that alone doesn't qualify the service for a refund. Our disclaimer says more about why rankings can't be promised.
Third-party costs
Some projects need approved third-party products or services, such as software, SEO tools, advertising, hosting, plugins, content services or data providers. Third-party fees that have already been incurred are generally non-refundable.

How to ask for a refund
Email contact (at) seoexpertmarketing.com to ask for a refund or raise a billing question, and include:
- Your full name, and your business name if you have one.
- The email address you used when paying, or the one on your invoice.
- Your invoice number or payment reference.
- The service you paid for and the date you paid.
- Why you're asking for a refund.
The more complete your details, the less back-and-forth it takes to review your request. Please don't put card numbers, bank logins or passwords in your email.
How refund requests are reviewed
We look at each refund request individually, using the rules in this refund policy. Sending a request doesn't automatically mean a refund will be approved.
If a refund is approved, it's generally paid back to the original payment method where reasonably possible. How long it takes to reach you can vary depending on the payment provider.
Payment disputes
If you have a concern about a payment or a service, please contact us first, before opening a dispute or chargeback with your bank or payment provider, so we have the chance to resolve it.
Governing law and your consumer rights
Wyoming, USA law applies to this refund policy, the same law that applies to our terms and conditions, except where a separate written agreement chooses a different one.
Nothing in this refund policy limits any rights you have under consumer protection laws that apply to you. Which laws apply depends on where you are and what you buy. In Australia, for example, the government's business.gov.au guide to the Australian Consumer Law says a business has consumer rights when the goods or services it buys to help run it cost less than A$100,000, and that a store policy such as a "no refunds" sign can't override consumer guarantee rights.
Changes to this refund policy
We may update this refund policy when our services, payment methods or business practices change. This page always shows the current version, and the "Last updated" date at the top tells you when it last changed.
