Our video SEO services are for small businesses that already make videos (how-tos, product demos, shop or property tours, customer testimonials filmed with consent) and want people to find them on Google and YouTube. We optimize the videos and channel you already have: the pages they sit on, the data search engines read, and the titles, descriptions, captions and thumbnails people see before they press play.

We're SEO Expert Marketing, a new, remote agency for small businesses in the USA, UK, Canada and Australia. We work on WordPress and Shopify sites. Our video SEO services are quote-based: we look at your channel and site first, then send a written proposal. To start, request a quote.

What video SEO services cover

Video SEO services have two sides, and most small businesses need a bit of both. The first is your website: making sure Google can find, index and show the videos embedded on your own pages. The second is YouTube: making each video and your channel easy to understand and easy to choose in YouTube search and suggestions.

The two help each other. A YouTube video embedded on a well-built page can bring visitors to your site, and a clear channel gives people another way to find you. We look at both and tell you where the effort is likely to matter most for your business.

One thing we don't do unless agreed separately: filming or editing. Our video SEO services work with videos you've already made.

Video SEO services cover two sides: videos on your website and videos on YouTube

Side one: video SEO on your website

Google publishes its own video SEO best practices. They say videos can appear in several places on Google, including the main results, the Videos tab, Google Images and Discover. We follow that guide rather than guesses, and we'll show you which parts apply to your site.

A dedicated watch page

Google's guide explains that to be eligible for video features, a video should sit on a watch page: a page whose main purpose is to show that one video. A blog post that discusses an embedded video, or a product page with a 360 view, isn't a watch page. The guide also says the watch page itself must be indexed before its video can be considered. Where it makes sense for your business, we plan watch pages with a unique title and description for each video.

VideoObject structured data

Structured data is a short block of code that describes the video to search engines. Google's video structured data guide lists the required VideoObject properties (name, thumbnail URL and upload date) and recommended ones such as description, duration and embed URL. We add or fix this markup on WordPress or Shopify and test it. Google is clear that markup doesn't guarantee a particular video feature, so we treat it as making your videos eligible, not as a promise.

Thumbnails, transcripts and video sitemaps

Google says a video needs a valid thumbnail at a stable URL to be eligible for video features, so we check that yours load reliably. Where a transcript helps visitors, we add it to the page as readable text. For sites with many videos, a video sitemap lists each one with its details so Google can find them. We also check the page loads the video in a way Google can see, which overlaps with our technical SEO services.

Checking video SEO results in Search Console

Google Search Console has a video indexing report that shows which watch pages have an indexed video and why others weren't indexed. We use it to find problems after changes go live, and we report what we see in plain English.

Side two: YouTube SEO services

For YouTube, we go by what YouTube itself says. Its help page on how YouTube search works names three main elements: relevance, engagement and quality. For relevance it looks at how well the title, tags, description and video content match the search. For engagement it looks at signals such as watch time for a search. For quality it looks for channels that show expertise, authoritativeness and trustworthiness on a topic. It also says it doesn't accept payment for better placement in organic search. There's no secret trick, and we won't sell you one.

So the YouTube part of our video SEO services focuses on the parts you control:

  • Titles and descriptions that say plainly what the video shows, in the words your customers search with, plus a link back to the right page on your site.
  • Chapters: YouTube's video chapters help page says you add timestamps in the description, starting at 00:00, with at least three in order, each at least 10 seconds long.
  • Captions: YouTube can create automatic captions, but its subtitles and captions page also lets you upload or type your own. We check and correct them, because names, products and places are often misheard.
  • Thumbnails: YouTube's custom thumbnails page recommends a 16:9 image for videos and says custom uploads need a verified account. We make sure each one is clear and matches the video.
  • Playlists and channel setup: grouping videos by topic or service, and a channel description and links that say who you are and where you work.

How our video SEO services work

  1. Look: we review your channel, your website and the videos you already have.
  2. Quote: you get a written proposal with the scope and the price in USD.
  3. Optimize: once you approve, we make the agreed changes on your site and channel.
  4. Check and report: we test the changes and explain what was done and what comes next.

Some changes, like titles, take minutes to make. Search engines then take their own time to recrawl and reconsider pages, so judge progress over months, not days. The proposal states what we'll deliver; when work is finished depends on the scope we agree.

What we need from you for video SEO services

  • Access: manager access to your YouTube channel, and access to your WordPress or Shopify site and Search Console. Accounts stay in your name.
  • The videos: links to them, or the original files if we're adding them to your site, plus any scripts or notes you have.
  • Who's in them: tell us who appears in each video, especially customers and staff.
  • Consent: confirmation that everyone who appears agreed to the video being published. We won't optimize a testimonial or customer video without it.
  • Facts: your services, areas and the pages each video should send people to.

How pricing works

We don't list a fixed price for video SEO services, because one channel with ten videos and a shop with two hundred product clips are very different jobs. We look first, then send a written quote in USD with the scope spelled out. Nothing starts until you approve it.

Video work can also sit inside our monthly plans, which start at $395 a month; see SEO packages and ask us whether it makes sense to add it there. If your videos support written pages, our SEO content writing and on-page SEO services cover the text around them.

Who our video SEO services suit (and who they don't)

Video SEO services suit small businesses that already film useful videos and want them to work harder: trades showing jobs, shops with product demos, clinics or studios explaining what to expect, and local firms with tours. If customers find you on maps, pair this with local SEO and Google Business Profile optimization.

They don't suit anyone looking for guaranteed views, bought views or subscribers, or a quick viral hit. They also aren't the right first step if you have no videos yet: tell us, and we'll point you to where SEO effort pays off sooner. Our SEO services page lists everything we cover.

Ready to see what your videos could do better? Send your channel link and website through our quote request form. We'll reply with what we see and a written proposal.
