If you're comparing SEO services UK firms offer and want something a small business can follow, this page explains what we do, what it costs and how we work. SEO Expert Marketing is a new agency that works remotely with small and local businesses across the United Kingdom. We help your website show up when people nearby search for what you sell, and we explain every change in plain words.
One thing to know up front: we're a US-registered business (our mailing address is in Sheridan, Wyoming) and we don't have an office in the UK. Everything happens online, by email, WhatsApp and shared reports, which is how most small-business SEO work is done anyway.
SEO services UK: what small businesses get
Every plan starts with an initial SEO audit of your site, then moves on to the work that matters most for your firm. For a typical UK small business, that means:
- Your Google Business Profile: the right categories, services, opening hours and service areas, so you can appear in the map results for searches like "plumber near me" in your town.
- Local listings: checking that your name, address and phone number match on the directories UK customers still use, such as Yell, Bing Places and Apple Business Connect.
- Pages written for UK searches: British spelling (optimisation, colour, enquiries), UK place names and the words your customers really type, which our keyword research uncovers.
- Technical fixes: speed, mobile layout, broken links and indexing problems. See our technical SEO services for the full list.
- Measurement: Google Search Console and Google Analytics set up in your name, and a report each month (SEO Authority adds a weekly report).

The UK search market in numbers
There were 5.7 million private sector businesses in the UK at the start of 2025, and about 5.6 million of them were small businesses with fewer than 50 employees, according to the Department for Business and Trade (October 2025). Many compete for the same local searches.
Google handles about 91% of searches in the UK and Bing about 6% (StatCounter, June 2026). That is why our SEO services UK plans focus on Google first, while keeping your Bing Places and Apple Business Connect listings accurate as well.
More people now also ask AI assistants for recommendations. Google shows AI Overviews for many searches, and ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity describe local firms from what they find online. Consistent listings, honest reviews, clear service pages and structured data help them describe your business correctly. Nobody can promise that an assistant will recommend you, but we can check what the main assistants say about your firm and correct what they get wrong on your own pages.
Common local SEO problems we fix for UK firms
Most of the work in our SEO services UK plans starts with problems like these, found in the first audit:
- Duplicate or unclaimed Google profiles. An old listing from a previous address, or a second profile created by mistake, splits your reviews. We help you claim the right one and ask Google to remove the duplicate.
- The wrong primary category. A roofer listed only as "builder" competes for the wrong searches. The primary category is one of the strongest signals a profile has.
- Different names and numbers across the web. A trading name on your website, your company name on Yell and an old mobile number on Facebook look like three different firms. We list every place your details appear and make them match.
- One page for every service. A single "Services" page can't rank for "boiler repair" and "bathroom fitting" at once. Each main service gets its own clear page.
- Unanswered reviews. Replying to reviews, good and bad, shows customers and Google that the business is active. We set up a simple routine for asking and replying.
- Slow pages on phones. Most local searches happen on a phone, so heavy images and themes are fixed first.
Small fixes like these often bring more enquiries than brand-new pages, so we do them first.
SEO services UK customers can trust: our rules
Small firms in the UK are often sold quick fixes. We don't offer them. In April 2025 the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) published guidance on fake reviews explaining how businesses must comply with consumer protection law on customer reviews. We never write, buy or swap reviews, and we never buy links. If an agency promises you guaranteed first place on Google, treat it as a warning sign.
What our SEO services UK clients get instead is steady work: a site that loads quickly on a phone, pages that answer real questions, a complete Business Profile, and a fair way to ask happy customers for reviews.
Local SEO for UK firms, including home-based businesses
Many UK tradespeople and consultants work from home or travel to customers. Google's guidelines for Business Profiles cover this: a business that serves customers at their location can set up a profile with a service area and hide its home address. The same guidelines say a rented mailing address that you don't operate from, such as a virtual office, isn't eligible. We'll set your profile up the way Google allows, so it isn't suspended later.
If you cover several towns, a page for each town is only worth writing when you have something real to say about your work there, such as local jobs, photos or permits. Copied town pages with only the name changed can be treated as doorway pages.
Google says its local results are based mainly on three things: relevance (how well your profile matches the search), distance (how far you are from the searcher) and prominence (how well known your business is, including reviews and links). Distance is out of your hands, so our SEO services UK plans work on the other two: a complete, accurate profile, service pages that match what people search, and steady, genuine reviews.

If local customers are your main market, our local SEO services page goes into more detail, and local SEO packages compares what each plan covers.
SEO services UK prices: monthly plans and fixed jobs
Our plans are SEO Starter ($395 a month), SEO Growth ($795) and SEO Authority ($1,495), shown below. Paid yearly, they cost $295, $595 or $1,095 a month (25% or more off), billed once a year. Monthly plans have no long contract, and you can cancel any time. Prices are in US dollars, so the amount in pounds depends on the exchange rate on the day you pay. Before you commit, your written proposal sets out the work, the USD price and what we need from you.
For most small UK firms with one area and a handful of services, SEO Starter is the place to begin. You can compare every plan line by line before you decide.
Not ready for a monthly plan? You can buy a single fixed-price job, paid once at checkout with no contract. Prices are in US dollars; every one is on our SEO price list:

|---|---|---|
| Full SEO Audit | $59 | Homepage and up to 10 key pages checked by hand, with a fix list by priority, as a PDF within 2 days |

If you start a monthly or yearly plan within 30 days of buying the audit, the $59 is credited to your first payment.

Paying from the UK
All our prices are fixed in US dollars, for plans and for single jobs. Single jobs are paid once at checkout by Remitly (bank deposit or Orange Money), and the checkout shows each step. Plans are paid by Remitly, Wise or bank transfer. The amount in pounds depends on the exchange rate on the day you pay. The checkout and your written proposal always show the price in US dollars before you pay, so you know exactly what you are agreeing to.
Who our SEO services UK plans suit, and who they don't
It suits owners of small and local businesses, sole traders with a website, and WordPress or Shopify sites that aren't getting enquiries from Google. It also suits firms that want a written plan and someone to do the work.
It isn't the right fit if you need someone in your office every week, a large in-house team, or results within days. SEO builds over months, not overnight.
What we need from you to start
SEO services UK owners can trust start with access that stays in your name. Before work begins we ask for:
- Manager access to your Google Business Profile. You stay the owner and can remove us at any time.
- Access to Google Search Console and Google Analytics. If they don't exist yet, we set them up in your own Google account, never in ours.
- A separate login for your website. WordPress and Shopify both let you add a user for us and delete it later, so you never share your own password.
- The basics only you know: the services you want more of, the towns or postcode areas you cover, your opening hours, and a few real photos of your work.
Please don't send passwords by email or chat. If something needs your developer or hosting company, we say so in writing and explain what to ask for. When we stop working together, every account, page and report stays with you.
Your first 90 days with our SEO services UK plans
Every site is different, but the first three months usually follow this order:
- Month 1: the initial SEO audit, Search Console and Google Analytics in your own name, your Google Business Profile corrected, and the most urgent technical fixes.
- Month 2: a page plan based on what your customers search, then new or improved service pages (up to 2 a month on SEO Starter; keyword research and mapping come with SEO Growth) and consistent listings.
- Month 3: more pages where searches show demand, a review routine, internal links (on SEO Growth and above), and the first report comparing results with the starting point.
Your proposal sets the exact order for your site. Each monthly report lists what was done and what moved.
How long SEO takes
Google's own SEO Starter Guide says some changes can take effect in a few hours and others several months, and it suggests waiting a few weeks before judging whether a change has worked. In practice, small fixes show first in Search Console, while new pages and a stronger local profile take longer. Your monthly report shows what moved and what didn't.
