Our SEO audit services show small business owners what is holding their website back in Google and which fixes deserve attention first. Start with a free website review: tell us about your site and goals, and we reply by email with the issues that stand out and the order we'd fix them in. If you go ahead, an initial SEO audit is the first step in each of our three monthly plans.
Who will audit your site? SEO Expert Marketing, a new remote agency with a WordPress focus. We have no published client results yet, so judge our SEO audit services on the free review, which looks at your own site rather than someone else's.
Free website review or SEO audit: what's the difference?
| At a glance | Free website review | SEO audit (monthly plans) |
|---|---|---|
| What it is | A first look at your site and goals | A detailed check of your site; scope depends on your plan |
| Cost | Free | Initial SEO audit included in all three monthly plans |
| What you get | An email with the main issues and priorities | A prioritized list of fixes for your plan |
| What we need | Your website and goals (location and competitors help) | The access your proposal lists, such as read access to Search Console |
| Commitment | None | Starts once you accept a written proposal |
Google's guide to hiring an SEO advises granting only read access to Search Console for an audit, and says an audit should give you realistic estimates of improvement and of the work involved. Hold any provider to both.

What our SEO audit services check
A thorough audit can cover six areas. Which of them your initial audit includes depends on your plan, as the pricing table below shows.
1. Technical health: the technical SEO audit
Can Google crawl and index the pages that matter? We look for broken pages, redirects that bounce visitors through several addresses, pages excluded in Search Console, sitemap problems, errors in robots.txt (the file that tells search engines what not to crawl), mobile issues and page designs that load slowly on phones. On WordPress, a plugin or theme can be the cause. Bigger repairs fall under technical SEO.
2. On-page basics
We check titles, meta descriptions, headings, image alt text, internal links and structured data (code that labels details like your business name and address for Google). We also flag pages that compete with each other for the same search.
3. Content
Does each main service have a clear, helpful page? We look for thin, outdated or duplicated pages, customer questions your site never answers and searches you have no page for. Mapping searches to pages in detail is the job of keyword research.
4. Local signals
If you serve a town or region, a local SEO audit checks your Google Business Profile, your name, address and phone details across directories, your reviews and your location pages. Ongoing work belongs to our local SEO service.
5. Links (SEO Authority)
We review which websites link to you, spot spammy patterns that could cause trouble and find broken links pointing to your pages. We also note genuine opportunities, such as suppliers, trade associations and local groups you already work with. We never buy links.
6. Competitors (SEO Growth and up)
We look at who appears for your most important searches and what their pages offer that yours don't. The aim isn't to copy them, but to see where your site can be more useful.
What you get: priorities, not a pile of warnings
Automated tools can produce long lists of warnings, and not all of them matter for a small site. Google's guide to hiring an SEO also notes that third-party SEO tools don't have access to Google's internal ranking data, and advises checking a tool's audit against official Google guidance before making significant changes. For each issue, the audit explains:
- What's wrong and on which pages.
- Why it matters to visitors and to Google.
- How to fix it and roughly how much work it takes.
- Its priority, so high-impact, low-effort fixes come first.
Example findings (illustrative, not from a client)
| Issue | Why it matters | Fix | Priority |
|---|---|---|---|
| Services page hidden by a plugin setting | It can't appear in search results | Change the setting in your SEO plugin | High; a quick fix |
| Two pages chasing the same search | They compete with each other | Merge them and redirect one | Medium |
| Photos several MB each | Pages load slowly on phones | Resize and compress them | Medium |

Is an SEO audit right for you?
An audit helps most when you know something isn't working but not why. Our SEO audit services are a good fit if:
- Your website brings few inquiries from Google, and you don't know why.
- Your traffic dropped after a redesign, a theme change or a move to a new domain.
- You're planning a redesign and want a record of what currently ranks before anything changes.
It's probably not the right fit if you already know what's broken and just need it fixed: see our technical SEO work instead. If your own team will make the fixes, SEO consulting may suit you better.
SEO audit cost: a free review, a $59 audit or an audit in your plan
The initial SEO audit comes with every monthly plan, and its depth grows with the plan. As a guide, here's what it covers on each:
| Plan | Price (USD) | Initial audit covers |
|---|---|---|
| SEO Starter | $395/month | Technical health, on-page basics, content and local signals |
| SEO Growth | $795/month | The Starter checks, plus competitor analysis |
| SEO Authority | $1,495/month | The Growth checks, plus backlink analysis |
Before work starts, your proposal confirms the audit's scope, the monthly price and who is responsible for what. Each plan also includes ongoing work beyond the audit; compare all three SEO services plans.
Need a one-off check without a monthly plan? Our $59 Full SEO Audit reviews your homepage and up to 10 key pages by hand and delivers a PDF fix list within 2 days. It's on our SEO price list with our other fixed-price jobs.
Not sure which plan fits? Request your free website review first.
Comparing other SEO audit services? Ask these questions
- Does a person review the findings, or is it a tool's export?
- Are local, link and competitor checks included?
- Is the price for the report only, or are fixes included?
- How does site size change the price?

A realistic timeline for results
An audit is a diagnosis, not a treatment: on its own, it changes nothing in Google. Movement starts once fixes go live and Google recrawls the pages involved.
The priority list from our SEO audit services sets the order. Quick wins go first, such as a missing page title or a broken redirect on a key page. Bigger projects follow, like merging pages that compete or rewriting thin content, because they take longer to plan and finish.
